A friend of mine’s been saying that Fables is one of the best written series he’s read in a while. Since I don’t read a lot of comics these days, I’ve yet to actually pick up one of the 20+ trade paperbacks that they have available now.
If you’ve seen these at Fully Booked and other bookstores, then you’re familiar with James Jean’s covers, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back to the comic shelf. His paintings are something else. Now that he’s coming to Manila, I’ve got no excuses not to get a few of these books so I’ll have something for him to sign on Sunday.
