Toy Preview: Dante’s Inferno

NECA’s Dante

I spend a lot of time on toy sites and NECA is one of those manufacturers who I have bookedmarked. Yesterday, they announced that they had the license for EA’s upcoming Dante’s Inferno, a 3rd person adventure game. You’re basically going into hell to pull your girlfriend, Beatrice, out of it.

Wonder what she did to get stuck there? Dirty girl…

On the way to meet the Devil you’ll need to wade through the 9 circles, slicing thorugh uncounted demon legions. Sounds like fun right?

Anyway, Dante the ACTION FIGURE looks to be a great looking toy. He’s got “30 points of articulation” according to the NECA site, which hopefully means he’ll be as flexible as NECA’s Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden. It looks as if he doesn’t have Ryu’s excellent balljoint hips though. From the product press photos, they look more like the articulation from NECA’s Issac Clarke Deep Space figures. Not as elegant, but just as functional.

I’m hoping those cloth bands around his arms are real cloth in the production version. It’ll suck if they decide to make em plastic.

He has some great looking accessories. An extra hand, a cross that goes into a sheath on his hip, and that 8″ scythe. 8″. damn. The thing has a detachable blade if you want him to use it up close and go head to head with Conan of something.

I really hope I can get this one from 2 Rats when it hits after Christmas. Definitely want to add him to the collection.

@Christian Guisadio, 2 Rats branches (Eastwood, Greenhills, etc.) and SM Megamall Toy Kingdom both carry these. 2 Rats is cheaper I think.
